can have inheritable health problems. Among the diseases to
be aware of are Fanconi Syndrome, Progressive Retinal
Atrophy (PRA), IPSID, Hypothryroidism, and Hip Dysplasia. To

that a puppy will be free from disease, some breeders will
guarantee the health of their pups. Breeders who are
concerned about the welfare of the breed do their best to
produce healthy Basenjis by using all available health
