Comments: Zuri is very polite, sweet and feminine and rarely finds mischief. Her behavior around children is outstanding. she is also quire gentle. She approaches new things and people cautiously at first, and warms up quickly. She loves to sniff the breath, hair and ears of our guests. She gets along fine with other dogs. Zuri is an outstanding hunter. Her first time was a dove hunt when she was 9 months old. She quickly got used to the sound of gunfire and caught on surprisingly well. She chased wounded birds and trapped them, and searched and found lost birds flawlessly. One surprise is that she wouldn't chase anyone's birds but mine. She also stays close by, and gave me "The look" when I miss birds. Zuri is the type of dog that you don't have to worry about taking off and running away. She is very attached to our other Basenji and cries and screams if we take him away. They play "chase" 2 or 3 times a day, and Zuri always seems to win. (Written by Matt Feliksa).
