 Honor Exercises

In Rally Excellent the dog is required to Honor while another dog works in the same ring, performing the necessary stations.  The honoring dog will be left in either a sit or down, with the handler across from them, the distance of their 6 foot leash.  The handler can talk to the honor dog throughout, reminding them to stay while also telling them what a good basenji they are for doing so (very important).  The honor exercise lasts as long as it takes the working dog to complete the Excellent course, be it one minute, five minutes or longer.
