The Versatility Program does no tracking of animal performance and it is the responsibility of the applying owner to provide a complete application and all appropriate supporting documents - including copies of official title certificates - to the program administrator. The owner also must track when their animal meets criteria for a specific award level. Applications will be accepted and processed on a continuous basis throughout the year. Three Levels of Recognition
Each recognition level will require a specific number of categories of versatility to be accomplished with the VBX and MVB also requiring specific intermediate or advanced Performance titles. Versatility Categories
In addition, only the categories of Obedience, Agility, Lure Coursing, Racing, and Tracking have been designated as " qualifying" Performance titles. The Performance Events Committee will consider, on a case by case basis, titles offered by organizations, either in the US or internationally, that are not specifically listed on the application form. Title Requirements
Grandfathering of AwardThis program will offer an initial period where owners of deceased dogs may make application for grandfathered Versatile Basenji recognition. Dogs deceased after 1980 must meet the stated program criteria for each recognition level. However, in light of limited competitive opportunities prior to 1980, owners of dogs deceased prior to that year may make a general written application stating the dog's broad accomplishments for review by the program administrator and the Chairs of the Performance Events Committee. version - requires Adobe Reader Application Form ExplainedThe Application Form contains a 4 column grid. The first column is a
list of all the different categories typed in BOLD that are
accepted in the program.
For example if you are applying for a VB title you will go to column 2 and see that you need to meet the minimum requirements in 3 categories. You will go down the column checking those that you have achieved. If you have 3 different categories checked, you need to submit documentation to prove that you have achieved the listed requirements which are spelled out in the first column.
You will do the same when you apply for the VBX and MVB titles, carefully noting that along with an increased number of categories required, there is a requirement for advanced accomplishments within one category.
