Greater Chicagoland Basenji Club

Established in 1964, our main activities now revolve around our annual Specialty Show and Sweepstakes, which takes place in June.

Dedicated to the preservation of the basenji breed and, as an AKC affiliate club, the support of the sport of pure bred dogs.   Our creed is to provide information to the public regarding the health and welfare of basenjis and to assist owners with the special needs of this unique breed of dog. Our goal is for basenjis everywhere to have a safe, healthy and well socialized life.

Meetings
The GCBC meets the 3rd Friday of every month, except December when we have our annual Christmas party
